Actual Parkland Project

Finished Roof in Avalon Beach Blend

The finished aerial view shows the tile field, intersecting hip lines, ridges, valleys, and the screened-pool roof geometry on the completed home.

This is the only jobsite photograph in the case study. The supporting images below identify the products and are not presented as construction-progress photos.

Layered Underlayment System

Seam Tape, #30 Felt, and Polystick TU MAX

The roof-deck seams were sealed with seam tape. A #30 felt base layer was installed next, followed by Polyglass Polystick TU MAX above the felt before the concrete tile installation.

Because TU MAX was installed over #30 felt on this project, this page does not describe the assembly as direct-to-deck. TU MAX is a self-adhered waterproofing underlayment designed for tile applications, including adhesive-set systems.

Concrete Tile Selection

Newpoint Barcelona 900 in Avalon Beach Blend

The homeowner selected Newpoint Barcelona 900 concrete tile from Westlake Royal Roofing. The high-profile shape creates a rounded barrel-style roof surface, while Avalon Beach Blend combines warm red, tan, and brown tones.

The tile swatch is included as a product reference so the profile and color variation are easier to see. The aerial image above is the documentary view of the material installed on this home.

Foam Tile Attachment

APOC Polyset AH-160 Roof Tile Adhesive

The Barcelona 900 concrete tile was set with APOC Polyset AH-160 roof tile adhesive. The manufacturer describes AH-160 as a two-component, low-pressure polyurethane foam formulated to bond individual concrete or clay roof tiles.

M&M confirms that this Parkland installation used medium adhesive paddies measuring approximately 7 × 2 inches. The dimension does not by itself identify the HFC/HFO formulation or paddy gram weight.

The product reference identifies the attachment material used for this installation; it is not a photograph of the crew dispensing foam on this roof.
