Roof Deck Work

Damaged Wood Repaired Before the New Roof Assemblies

Tear-off exposed sections of deck and perimeter wood that could not remain beneath the new roof. Those areas were removed and rebuilt before either roofing system was installed.

Completing the substrate work first provided a prepared surface for the self-adhered shingle underlayment and the base layer of the low-slope built-up roof.

Sloped Roof System

Polystick IR-Xe and TAMKO Titan XT in Shadow Grey

The pitched sections were protected with Polyglass Polystick IR-Xe, a self-adhered underlayment designed for use beneath shingle roof coverings. TAMKO Titan XT premium architectural shingles in Shadow Grey completed the exposed roof surface.

The finished wide view shows how the Shadow Grey shingle field, hips, and ridge meet the completed low-slope roof while keeping each system on the roof area it was selected to cover.

Low-Slope Roof System

The GAFGLAS® #75 Base Sheet formed the first layer over the prepared flat roof deck. The crew then applied hot asphalt while installing GAFGLAS® Ply 4 as the reinforcing ply.

GAFGLAS® Mineral-Surfaced Cap Sheet completed the specified built-up roofing assembly. Its mineral-surfaced face provides the exposed roofing layer above the hot-mopped base and ply.
